Easter is NOT Over!

Don’t be misled.  Easter is NOT over!  Yes, we celebrated the Passover this year.  We remembered the agonizing path that Jesus took up to the top of Golgotha. We cringed as we recalled how Jesus was brutally nailed to the wooden cross.  We mourned his death and thanked him for the price he paid for our sins that we might have life.  On Sunday, we rejoiced that Jesus had indeed defeated death!

However, according to historians, we have celebrated 1989 Easters, since Jesus arose from the dead.  Why do we keep celebrating this even every year?  The reason is simple; it isn’t over! Just as Simon of Cyrene carried the cross for Jesus up to his crucifixion and Joseph carried Jesus’ body to the tomb, we are to carry His glorious name wherever we go until his return!  Don’t you remember how Jesus promised that he was going to prepare a place for us so that we could be with him through all of eternity?  The truth of Easter is that there is NO End! His love is a never ending story!

While we wait for the return of our savior, we must remember the reason he is tarrying his return.  Each second that we are given is a gift of mercy and grace presented to the lost.  Our lives should be lived to honor the command that Jesus gave us.  Matthew 28 says,
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

As I have said before, the reason that we were left on Earth after being saved is to be witnesses for Jesus.  Not only that, we are held accountable for carrying out this command!

Each day as we are busy fulfilling family, work, friend, and community duties, we should never neglect our calling of the highest duty: Share the miracle of Easter! Share the love of Jesus! Share the Good News wherever we go and whatever we do!!!!

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
