Lord have mercy on all of us out of shape, over-weight ladies! I was watching a popular television show yesterday where women trade lives with other women. The first woman had to start eating junk food and learn to relax more – I DO NOT have that problem at all. The second woman was forced to do three hours of exercise each day for a week. Yes, she cried. I couldn’t believe the first lady exercises that much every day of her life! That’s totally insane!!! I bet she actually cheats. Don’t you?
Anyways, fast forward to today. After I got home from work, I decided to try to COMMIT to thirty minutes on the treadmill every day for thirty days. This proves television works on our mind unconsciously. This could be dangerous! The most I’ve ever walked on the treadmill is twenty minutes because in my mind that was all I thought I could do. However, once I put my mind to it, the Good Lord, the Bee Gees, and my guardian angel helped me through my first ever thirty minutes! Hallelujah! Hallelujah-Hallelujah! Now, I’ve started to wonder what other things I could do if I put my mind to it. Hmmm! It appears that God is stirring my spirit. Well, that’s cool. Right?
Wanna hear the chaos of it all now? Wellllll, as I was walking at the manageable speed of three on the treadmill, I decided the music of Bruce Springsteen wasn’t fast enough. So, I bent over to push the arrow to prompt the next song. Heaven’s to Betsy! I accidentally hit the seven speed button without realizing it at first. Before I knew it, I was literally running while sliding backwards. Instantly, I could see my life flash before me! I would crash and have to have a third back surgery or worse – be paralyzed for the rest of my life! I was gonna die!!!!
Just then, I felt as if I was literally flying! My guardian angel picked up one of my feet and sat it on the left stationary side of the treadmill. My right leg wasn’t so lucky. It kept sliding back. Ahhhhh! I was going into the splits! I held on for dear life and quickly hoisted my other leg on the right stationary side. I thought to myself, “I’m too old for this!” Needless to say, I now truly believe in angels at a totally new level. I truly think God heard and answered my prayer for safety this morning. Pray daily…just sayin’!
